Her doctor ordered that she be transported back to California, and that’s what happened next. She would be admitted to a hospital there. An inoperable glioblastoma was discovered at that time.

She eventually passed away because of the aggressive brain tumour. On April 26, 1973, Irene Ryan passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California, after a brief illness. She was in her seventies.

Both her glioblastoma and arteriosclerotic heart disease were listed as the official reasons for her passing. The Beverly Hillbillies star was laid to rest in the city of her death at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery. That’s where she’ll be laid to rest next to her sister, Anna Thompson.

Ryan Began Her Career as an Entertainer in The World of Vaudeville And Radio.

The legendary actress and her first husband Tim Ryan were a hit onstage together. After the breakup, she went on tour with another famous comedian, Bob Hope. Her first foray into the film industry came in 1935, when she appeared in the short film One Big Happy Family.
